In early 2017, work began on a large rebrand project at SBP Creative for Glamis Castle – a long-running client. The project involved not only revamping the brand identity of the castle but also their online presence, and refreshing their marketing materials which had become very outdated in recent years.
My role within the project was to execute the redesign of the website and develop the new identity for digital use.
I began by simplifying the existing site map and subsequently created an interactive prototype using Invision, which presented the user journey for multiple use cases – such as buying entry tickets – with clear messaging and prominent calls to action. Once developed, I progressed with turning these page layouts into fully responsive pages in WordPress to build the foundations of the new website.
The new website was launched in early 2018 and has since made tremendous improvements in ticket sales and traffic in comparison to their previous website. Since launch, additional features have been continually added, including an online merchandise shop, and accommodation booking for properties on the estate.
